Dr. Pamela Paetzhold

Dr. Paetzhold specializes in integrating her multidisciplinary background into a comprehensive, efficient flow for analysis and treatment of health imbalances in people of all ages, from newborns to elders. Her focus is to correct the underlying imbalances rather than just to relieve symptoms temporarily she
searches for root problems to correct that will have global improvements in many systems. Dr. Paetzhold has been in full time practice as a physician since 1982. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, graduating from Reynolds High School in 1963 as Valedictorian at the age of 16. She went to the University of Oregon as an art major in interior design until a painful experience in design class made herreevaluate her path. She then went to the University of Oregon Dental School and graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1967. She worked in the dental field in general practice, orthodontics, periodontics and teaching and developing a new dental hygiene program at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington until she decided this path was no longer fulfilling enough.

Her next adventure took her traveling  oversea’s on multiple trip, each trip lasting longer than the last. First was 3 months to Europe. Then was 10 months to Europe and south to Greece and Israel. The third trip last 3 years, experiencing a bigger world asking

“What is my purpose here?

This included a heavenly year living in Greece and the Greek Islands. 6 months teaching English in Tehran, Iran when the Shah was in power, then following the Silk Road into Afghanistan, through the Khyber Pass into Pakistan, Srinagar, Ladakh, India and Nepal where she met her spiritual teachers. This inner guidance achieved through meditation and her teachers led her back to Portland where she found helping others through natural healing to be her true calling.

While working as a Hygienist she studied nutrition on her own, starting with Adele Davis, and talked nutrition to her patients. When they talked back, it made it very difficult to clean their teeth on schedule. While in Chiropractic school, she discovered ‘AK’ or applied kinesiology and volunteered with field doctors. Especially Santo Polleyeh D.C. and Alan Beardall D.C. the creator of clinical kinesiology and human Biodynamics, these muscle testing methods became a foundation of her learning and part of every treatment. Dr. Paetzhold says “I have studied with the best of the best. Unfortunately, most of them are not alive anymore or no longer practicing.

I continue to study health and nutrition on a daily basis and attend ongoing seminars. Human health is an ever-evolving conundrum requiring diligent study to be able to figure out what
underlies someone’s problems. I have always been drawn to “figuring it out” (in art, cooking, health). Once I do, I want a new challenge and puzzle to figure out. People are unique, ever changing and never boring. When I treat a person, I often use some part of that treatment with another person, but still must personalize it to be the most effective. People have never bored me with their problems, their structure or their emotions. Every day is a gift of “who can I help next?” what a wonderful and fun profession I am in! I appreciate all of my patients allowing me to follow my life passion and help heal people every day.
