Sports Injuries

Sports injuries can cause muscle, joint and ligament tearing which requires expert help to mobilize and or stabilize. Muscles are often “turned off” partially in an injury (a defense mechanism of the body to prevent further damage) and never get turned back on. They need to bet turned back on for maximum integrated coordination with the rest of the bodies muscles. We examine your entire spine, joints, TMJ, cranium and repair that coordination using light force instrument adjusting, muscle repair, stabilization with kinesio tape, support belts, acupuncture with needles or laser, direct laser, home rehab as well as herbal and homeopathic prescriptions.

Knee/Ankle Pain

Can be easily corrected and returned to stability often with no permanent injury.

Carpal Tunnel

Is frequently corrected with adjusting and acupuncture with needles or laser. Often the arm bone has slipped down and spreads the wrist bones causing nerve pain in the carpal tunnel. Both the arm bone and the wrist bones need to be adjusted.

Tennis Elbow

Often results from repeated use of the elbow joint and muscles, stretching stabilizing ligaments in the elbow. It is corrected by adjustments, use of acupuncture and lasers, resetting of the muscles paired with kinesio tape to keep the muscles stabilized while they recover.

Back/Neck Pain

Happens within sports but requires a comprehensive look at the spine and joints. Muscle testing to determine under functioning muscles followed by reset of the muscles. One the muscles are set properly we use Kinesio tape as well as home exercises to get you past the acute stage.

Chest Pain

In a sports injury the chest muscles can spasm causing the muscles between the ribs to spasm causing pain between the ribs, the breast bone, rib and vertebrae joints. All of this can be gently adjusted, muscles reset and relaxed with herbal and homeopathic prescriptions.

Hiatal Hernia

The diaphragm tightens up with stress and or injuries. Pulling the upper part of the stomach above the diaphragm. This can cause chest pain, decreased oxygen, shortness of breath and acid reflux. All of this can easily be corrected with gentle adjusting, resetting of muscles as well as laser repair to injured nerve roots.

Concussion

Can happen from a direct blow to the head, or a fall where the head suffers a blow. The brain is a very soft tissue which lives in a fluid filled sack of cerebral spinal fluid. With a blow the brain hits the inside of the skull causing swelling and in worst cases sometimes bleeding.

Dr. Pamela & Maxwell Paetzhold recently completed advanced training in concussion treatments and determining when an athlete can return to play. If there is an injury at an event with suspected concussion, the athlete should not return to play until being examined and returned to play. If the athlete suffers a second blow to the head the same day the brain trauma is greatly magnified. Some young athletes have difficulty thinking, doing schoolwork and can take up to a year to heal. There are homeopathic and nutritional therapies that can greatly speed up recovery and prevent an extended healing time.

Avoiding Sports Injuries

Best protocol is to keep your body tuned up and balanced. We have athletes that get weekly adjustments and rebalancing so they are much less likely to get injured while playing. We also train you what to use at home so you can start treatment on your injury before your next office visit.
